JUNCTION SQUARE

HERNDON, VA

Junction Square

It is not every day that a city gets a new, old downtown, but the Town of Herndon gave us a four-dimensional challenge to do just that; take a hilly, triangular site and fill it with a mixed-use development emblematic of the historic period of the town’s growth. The result is a mix of retail, townhomes, and multi-story condos wrapped around an interior court. Street-fronting façades bear the hallmarks of the significant eras of Herndon’s historic growth, while interior-facing elevations unabashedly present as 21st-century Herndon.
